Description
LA NAUSICA is a boat that has always belonged to a single family and is cared for as a member of the family.
It is a Bavaria 42 built in Germany in 1999 and finished assembling in Alicante in 2000.
Despite being an ideal and very comfortable boat for cruising, it is well equipped for racing.
In terms of sailing, it has a roller for the mainsail and jib with cruising and racing sails (the racing mainsail with vertical battens) and a gennaker. It also has a spinnaker pole and a track if one wishes to use a spinnaker. The winches for the jib sheets are electric.
The engine is a Volvo Perkins MD22L always serviced by professional mechanics and in perfect condition. The current engine hours are 2767.3 h.
As for electronic instruments, it has the basics of radio, radar, plotter, anemometer, and sounder. The plotter, radar, and radio were renewed in 2019.
Regarding life on board, the entire deck is made of teak (completely replaced in 2021, with a thickness of 10 mm), the installation of solar panels on the bimini for greater autonomy, air conditioning for port days, and an electric toilet in one of the bathrooms (with the necessary installation to mount one in the other bathroom if desired).
The interior is distributed into 3 cabins (two at the stern and one at the bow), a central space with a chart table, lounge, and kitchen, and two bathrooms; the starboard one inside the main bow cabin. It also has a storage locker at the bow that is very useful for storing fenders, a dinghy, sails, lines...
As "auxiliary" material, it also has all the necessary safety equipment according to Spanish law (liferaft for 6 people, flares, life jackets, harnesses...) and a new Quicksilver dinghy (from 2024) with an older but perfectly functioning Honda outboard motor (also serviced annually by the mechanic).
In short, it is a vessel in perfect condition and very well maintained that only requires a crew with time and desire to sail throughout the Mediterranean with it. Until this year, it has made one or two crossings from the Peninsula to the Balearic Islands each year.
