Description
Welcome to your New Home on the Water!
Comfort, performance, and liveaboard capability were the first three priorities when the Hunter 41 was introduced in 2004. Drachenfels, is a well-maintained example of these key design elements, and she awaits her next adventure with you at the helm. Drachenfels features a smart deck layout, robust sailing characteristics, and a warm, inviting interior. She is ideal for weekend getaways, extended cruising, or even living aboard, and boasts a comprehensive list of recent upgrades from her diligent owners.
On Deck
All lines lead smartly aft to the cockpit with no need to go forward for reefing or setting sail. The furling mainsail and jib are ideal for single handed or short handed sailing, and without a backstay, the B&R rig maximizes sail area and minimizes sail handling. This affords a measure of performance that will appeal to sailors who demand a reasonable turn of speed. An electric windlass at the bow and powerful Lewmar self-tailing winches in the cockpit make light work of anchoring and sail trim. The cockpit is well protected with a full canvas dodger, bimini, and connector, all custom made in 2023. Recently upgraded electronics, featuring a B&G Zeus plotter, B&G Wind, and Triton multi-function display accompany the Raymarine autopilot at the helm station NavPod. Underfoot, the cockpit and swim platform has been updated with NuTeak synthetic decking--easy on the feet on hot days and simple to maintain.
Down Below
Stepping below into the bright and airy salon feels open and spacious, and surrounds you with rich wood finishes. Wraparound windows bring in tons of daylight around the convertible dinette, and taller sailors will love the extra headroom--well over six feet! A fully equipped galley to port includes two refrigerator/freezer units, Corian countertops, a double stainless sink, microwave, and propane galley stove/oven. A clever pantry is built into the aft bulkhead and has plenty of storage for spices and provisions.
To starboard is the navigation station with a proper nav desk and access to all systems breakers and tank monitors. A VHF station is also located here, as is storage for any number of charts, books, and tools one will need aboard. Aft of the nav station is a spacious day head with separate shower, electric flush toilet, and private access to the aft stateroom. This can be configured as an owner's cabin since another stateroom and head are forward! The aft cabin is a full-beam master stateroom with an athwartships queen berth, generous storage, a mirrored vanity with Corian countertop, and engine access.
Moving forward to the main salon, access to ship's systems and bilges is simple. Tasteful upholstery is richly padded and comfortable, and an additional queen berth can be configured. A 32" flat panel television and Bose speakers add to the entertainment options. A few steps forward is the private guest cabin. This cabin features a double sized Pullman berth, a vanity with sink, and separate and very large head and shower compartment.
If you're heading south, want to cruise the Great Lakes, or are seeking a floating condominium, this boat will not disappoint! Call for a private showing today!
