ELATION
2005 CABO RICO CUTTER
Introducing this stunning 2005 Cabo Rico 42 Cutter, a remarkable cruiser that combines elegance and performance with the fit and finish of a Passport, Hylas or any of the most expensive custom built yachts ever produced. She carries a cutter's sailplan with a bow sprit similar to the Shannons. With an overall length of 46.5 feet, this monohull vessel is crafted from durable fiberglass, featuring a cut away full keel that enhances stability and maneuverability. Powered by a reliable Yanmar 4JH3E inboard diesel engine, delivering 56 horsepower, it ensures a smooth cruising experience. The Elation offers comfortable accommodations with two inviting cabins and a well-appointed head, making it perfect for extended voyages. Its thoughtful design includes a stainless steel 3-blade propeller, contributing to efficient navigation. This boat is ideal for those seeking adventure on the water, blending functionality with style. Experience the joy of sailing with the Cabo Rico 42 Cutter, where every journey becomes a memorable escape.
The Cabo Rico 42, designed by Chuck Paine, was awarded Sail Magazine's "ultimate bluewater boat" prize in 2000 and was named one of the top 10 best sailboats in the world -the only boat to meet their definition of an ultimate bluewater boat. Elation is one of the last Cabo Rico 42s built and lives up to her name and reputation handling with an incredibly smooth and gentle motion on all points of sail. She is equipped with a Schaefer roller furling boom, new Schaefer genoa and staysail furlers and Lewmar electric winches for easy solo or couple sailing. Elation has been gently sailed, well maintained and fully equipped for bluewater cruising with up to date electronic systems. She is being offered by her second owners.

Accommodations
Straightforward in layout, the overall feel of the interior is one of useable comfort. The designer interior is beautiful, rich, plantation grown Costa Rican teak. Twelve opening ports plus a large forward hatch and extra-large main hatch, all with screens, combined with fans throughout ensure Elation stays cool through the hot months with air conditioning needed only when docked where there is minimal air flow. There is 6’6” headroom throughout the cabins. The aft cabin has a double bed, hanging locker, multiple shelves and drawers with additional storage under the berth. The forward cabin has a large V-berth with ample storage, drawers and storage spaces under the berth. A hanging locker is just outside. The head features a separate shower, teak medicine cabinet and Raritan head. The main cabin features a settee to starboard that converts to a double bunk. Lockers with louvered doors line the salon. The navagation table is compact. Instruments are easy to read and the electrical panel is well labeled and user friendly. The galley is complete with plenty of storage for food and dishes. 3 burner Force 10 propane stove with oven and broiler and a microwave make cooking a joy. The countertops in the galley and head are Corian.
The keel-stepped mast is concealed with an attractive teak and fiberglass cover. Bomar all-ocean-rated main and forward hatches provide excellent ventilation while open but are watertight when shut. Numerous stainless steel opening ports for visibility, light, and ventilation. All hatches have screens.
Every possible space was designed to maximize storage and access to all equipment, wiring, and hoses. All interior cabinets have louvered teak doors with special two-stage pushbutton latches. The cabin can easily be visually inspected for underway security. Padded vinyl headliner provides excellent thermal and acoustic insulation with well over six feet of headroom. All interior doors are beautifully constructed of solid teak hardwood in a beautiful paneled and louvered design. Interior is hand-rubbed varnish.
