Description
Raised Salon • 2020 Beta 30hp (255 hrs) • Epoxy-Bedded Teak Decks • Custom Build Quality
Authenticity is not a typical production 35-footer. Designed by renowned naval architect Doug Peterson and built by respected BC builder Martin Yachts, she combines performance pedigree with genuine cruising comfort.
Repowered in 2020 with a 30hp Beta Marine diesel (255 hours) and Volvo 110 saildrive, she offers modern reliability in a proven hull. Her raised salon delivers nearly 360° visibility, exceptional light, and headroom rarely found in this size range.
At 13,200 lbs displacement, she sits squarely in the cruiser sweet spot – more comfortable and settled than lighter race versions, yet responsive and quick under sail.

Design & Performance
The Peterson 35RS features a narrower stern and refined hull sections compared to modern wide-stern cruisers. The result:
- Smoother motion at anchor
- Predictable, comfortable roll period
- Strong upwind performance
- Efficient 6–6.5 knots at 2000 rpm
- Approx. 8 knots under power
The raised salon configuration adds livability without meaningful compromise to stability, supported by a shorter rig that reduces overall windage.
Construction
- Fibreglasshull and deck
- Custom build quality
- Epoxy-bedded teak decks (reduced leak risk vs. screw-fastened decks)
