2005 Tayana 48 Cutter, "OLETA" - World-Ready Blue Water Cruiser with Extensive Refit
Location: Currently in Panama/Caribbean region
This exceptional 2005 Tayana 48, "OLETA," designed by the renowned Robert Perry and built by Ta-Yang Yacht Building Co. in Taiwan, is a meticulously maintained, liveaboard-ready cutter rigged sailboat. The current owners have spared no expense, completing a comprehensive 2019-2020 refit numerous upgrades, all with the full intention of a circumnavigation. She has been upgraded to be "more robust and safe" than original.

2019-2020 Complete Refit (Kemah, TX)
New Sails (Mainsail, Genoa, Staysail).
All new Standing and Running Rigging (StixnRigging).
New Batteries (All) and Victron Electronics, Solar, and MPPT Controllers.
New Seafrost Refrigeration and Freezer Compressors.
Known Bulkhead Issue Repair: Early preventative maintenance included rebuilding the deck entrance for the chainplate on both sides with epoxy to prevent water ingress. Following the Gulf of Mexico crossing in 2020, a deeper investigation revealed rot contained to the wood in the knee. The repair involved replacing a larger portion with G10 (instead of wood) and overbuilding the fiberglassing (10 inches of overlap vs. 7 inches). The repair has been a success with no issues in 5 years of sailing.

Sailing History
Launched in Taiwan, she sailed through the Canal to Mexico, back through the Canal, and up the West Coast to California before arriving in Kemah, TX.
Since December 2020, she has cruised through the Dry Tortugas/Key West, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, British Virgin Islands, Eastern Caribbean (Trinidad & Tobago), Curacao, Colombia, and Panama.
The vessel is being sold due to a change in circumstances.
