Description
The Beneteau First 25.7 is an excellent lift-keel pocket rocket. She offers four/five berths and a separate toilet compartment in a neatly packaged boat that is practical and easy to sail. Sailing Rosie to our marina, I was struck how well balanced she was as the apparent wind hit 21 knots and yet, with full sail, she remained under control and handled the gusts admirably. Overpressed, she was a reassuring yacht with a great mix or fun and stability.
Designed by Group Finot and built by Beneteau in 2008, the 25.7 was a huge sales success. This was as much due to her packaging with her lift-keel giving spritely performance and bite when lowered as due to her ease of handling and useful accommodation creating a family yacht.
This example offers an original two cylinder Yanmar 2YM15 diesel engine, twin lifting rudders controlled by her tiller with extension and a trickle charge solar panel to keep the batteries topped up if on a mooring. With her Grey hull, teak cockpit seats and simulated teak cockpit sole, she is a very appealing example and one to be viewed.
The lift-keel mechanism was completely replaced in 2017.
The engine is serviced regularly and was last serviced in 2024 (She was winterized for the 24/25 winter).
Her sails have been replaced and she has been lightly used. These boats are ideal as a weekend package for family or friends and gives the option to investigate estuaries or go further afield.
