2008 Beneteau Oceanis 50 | Leia
Leia is a clean, tidy and exceptionally well-maintained example of this popular and proven cruising model, presented in the highly sought-after three-cabin owner’s layout.
Well-equipped and ocean-capable, she arrived in New Zealand last season and is ideally set up for comfortable coastal cruising or extended offshore passage making. Her cockpit features quality enclosures, creating a sheltered and highly usable outdoor living space in varied conditions. Thoughtfully configured throughout, she balances liveaboard comfort with serious offshore capability.
Her electronics package is comprehensive and recently upgraded, centred around a modern Raymarine navigation suite, supported by Starlink Mini, PredictWind integration, Iridium and an Orca 2 navigation system — providing excellent onboard redundancy for extended cruising.
Propulsion is delivered by the reliable 110hp Yanmar 4JH4-HTE diesel engine (approx. 2,400 hours), paired with a three-blade Max-Prop and shaft-mounted rope cutter for added offshore security. Serviced in March 2026.
Her rigging and sail inventory are fully up to spec, with new standing rigging and a new suit of Elvstrøm sails installed in 2024.
Power systems include 400Ah of lithium supported by approximately 1,100 watts of solar (2021–2024) and a full Victron suite, including a Victron 3000W inverter” (2024), with backup from a Honda EU10i portable generator.
For extended cruising, she is fitted with a Spectra VT-150 watermaker and Webasto 4kW diesel heater. The tender package includes a Quicksilver 350 RIB with Mercury 15hp outboard, plus a full dive setup including compressor.
An optional Hydrovane self-steering system is available by negotiation. Ground tackle includes a 24kg Delta anchor and 80 metres of 12mm chain.
Sailed to New Zealand last season by her long-term owners, Leia is VAT paid but not imported into New Zealand. The owners are open to relocating her to the islands and potentially elsewhere.
Leia presents as a well-prepared, comprehensively equipped Oceanis 50 — step aboard and cruise with confidence. Not available to NZ residents whilst in NZ Waters.
