The 2009 Hunter 50 Center Cockpit (CC) is a fiberglass cruiser built by Hunter Marine (USA) featuring a Glen Henderson hull design with specific reinforcement, including Kevlar in the bow and forward keel area for collision protection. The vessel is constructed with a solid fiberglass hull below the waterline and cored with end-grain balsa above the waterline.
Key building materials and construction features include:
- Hull: Hand-laid fiberglass, reinforced with Kevlar from the stem to the keel.
- Deck: Fiberglass with balsa coring, featuring a through-bolted hull-to-deck joint every 8 inches.
- Structure: A structural interior grid system is used to attach components to the hull.
- Rigging: B&R (Bergstrom & Ridder) rig with swept-back spreaders (no backstay) and aluminum spars.
