Description

NEW LISTING - OYSTER 575/36 INFLAGRANTI

BROKER’ S COMMENTS

The Oyster 575 was designed by Rob Humphreys and the Oyster Design Team to replace the Oyster 56, which had been our most popular model. Built on owners’ feedback, the 575 was designed and engineered as a direct replacement – a long range, ocean-going, bluewater cruiser and liveaboard, which can be easily handled by a couple. The 575 has a longer waterline length, deeper keel, increased sail area, and fuel tankage. She feels like a ‘bigger’ yacht, with more headroom and a beam that is carried further aft, enhancing off-wind performance, and allowing a more spacious owner’s stateroom. The biggest upgrades and biggest steps forward were to the cockpit, which features twin wheels, a centreline walkway aft, and distinct working and relaxing areas ideal for children or non-sailors whilst underway.

The first 575 was launched in 2010 and a total of 41 were launched when production ceased in 2018. The 575 is a proven circumnavigator and consummate ocean cruiser, which offered three different keel options, a standard deep draft, a fixed shoal keel and a ‘super shoal’ lifting keel. There is also an Extended Transom version, which replaces the sugar scoop with a counter stern, allowing a huge lazarette and deck space aft. Most 575s are rigged as cutters, with a few sloops. Oyster’s fifth-generation deck saloon design gives the 575 an attractive profile at sea. She is well-mannered and reassuring, comfortable in all conditions, and with a turn of speed that will keep the most demanding sailor fully engaged.

1 . CONSTRUCTION

HULL NUMBER Oyster 575/36.

HULL CONSTRUCTION The hull is a composite construction, moulded using a combination of vinylester and polyester resin with the outer topside finish in a white special NPG gelcoat.

Laminate material comprises a combination of E-Glass, Kevlar, and Carbon Fibre specially designed for the yacht by the Oyster Design Team’s own structural engineers. This custom laminate offers significant weight savings, strength and stiffness advantages over a normal GRP construction.

Topside laminate incorporates a high-tech, balsa-cored, E-glass/Carbon sandwich above the waterline, for additional strength, stiffness, and insulation. Below the waterline, the hull features a monolithic (single-skin) composite laminate with an Aramid/Kevlar layer, reinforced with a matrix of stringers and floors.

Combined with BS1088 standard marine-ply structural bulkheads, this produces a robust structure, with excellent strength to weight qualities and proven longevity. Additional reinforcements are included in the way of the keel recess, the keel longitudinals, mast bulkhead, P-bracket, forestay, and hull stringers.

Limber holes and/or tubes are installed at appropriate points. Stringers, bulkhead landings, and floors are formed over a non-structural, inert, polyurethane foam.

HULL FINISH ‘Light Grey’ hull with cove line and upper boot top line in ‘grey’, lower boot line in ‘dark grey’.

Fore and aft coachroof tops and cockpit coamings finished in white gelcoat, with white, non-slip deck paint applied to appropriate panels.

The deck edge incorporates a bulwark, which facilitates relatively flat side decks.

The top of the bulwark has a clean GRP finish, giving a modern and stylish rolled edge, enhancing the yacht’s visual appearance with a graceful sheer line.
