Description
While the lines of this elegant daysailer are inspired by the famous racing J Class yachts of the 1930s, the materials, equipment and keel design are solidly 21st Century. The large open cockpit with its contemporary sail management features (electric winches, boom furling system, wireless remote controls, simple sail handling, etc) makes single handing a breeze...
The owners sailed Arethusa throughout the summers of '24 and '25 in Newport, RI, sometimes single handing and others with (many) non-sailing guests aboard. They have so enjoyed the experience, that they have ordered a new, much larger, cruising yacht to be delivered this winter.
Arethusa had only one previous owner. The following upgrades were made by the current Sellers in the Summer of '24:
- All running rigging replaced
- All rod rigging replaced
- All chain plates rebedded
- Carbon fibre boom repainted and clear coated (minor scratches)
- Replaced original sea cocks
- Repaired and serviced the windlass
- All new batteries (5)
Upgrades in the Spring of '25:
- New and more powerful bow thruster jet motor with wireless remote control
- New inverter
- New head/waste system
- New gasketing for all 4 cockpit lockers
