Description

AYSHA represents a rare opportunity to acquire a superb 2020 Garcia Exploration 52. Owned from new by her original owner, who has lived aboard and sailed her extensively, she has been meticulously maintained and continuously updated.

AYSHA is designed and built for long-distance, autonomous bluewater sailing.  The Exploration 52 evolved from the Garcia Exploration 45 originally conceived by Jimmy Cornell, created specifically for safe, capable and shorthanded world voyaging.

Her robust aluminum construction features a single-piece hull, deck and deck saloon structure, creating exceptional rigidity and strength. The centerboard and twin rudders are specifically designed to allow the yacht to safely beach at low tide, making it easy to inspect anodes and running gear without needing to schedule a haulout. Combined, these features deliver outstanding safety and versatility across a wide range of conditions, from high latitudes to tropical anchorages. AYSHA is also equipped with Oceanvolt hybrid propulsion, offering efficient and quiet motoring.

The hard dodger makes for a very well protected cockpit, and inboard mounted primary winches make extended passagemaking comfortable and safe.  The Exploration series also has the anchor chain locker located low and near the mast, removing excessive weight from the bow.

Passing through the waterproof companionway doors, the deck saloon design fills the interior with natural light and panoramic 270-degree views. Double-glazed windows and thick hull insulation provide acoustic and thermal insulation for true all-climate sailing. Interior soles are also foam insulated for added comfort when cold weather sailing. AYSHA’s convivial saloon and galley, spacious owner’s suite, VIP double cabin, and versatile workshop/twin cabin with cockpit access—plus a below saloon dedicated technical/storage area with fold-down pipe berth—create a comfortable, capable platform underway or at anchor.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to purchase a proven, ocean-going yacht that has already demonstrated her capability and is ready for her next voyage.

Features:
* Grey Hydranet radial cut mainsail (on Leisurefurl boom), genoa (solent) and staysail.
* Dual (walk through) helms with twin rudders and redundant steering quadrants.
* Two independent/redundant auto pilots.  Full B&G sailing and navigation instruments.  Radar replaced December 2024.

* Capstan on the foredeck for easier Med mooring.

* Multiple deck hatches with screens and shades allow for ample ventilation while at anchor.  There are four dorades and three extraction ventilation zones for circulating the air when in cold conditions to keep condensation to minimum.
* GN Espace induction cooktop (no cooking gas on board).
* Extensive set of spare running rigging, pumps, electrical and plumbing parts for world cruising.  Extensive set of high-quality hand and power tools (Festool drill, orbital and belt sanders and shopvac) and a sewing machine are included.

Interior Arrangement:
AYSHA’s interior arrangement has the panoramic saloon and galley with a spacious owner’s cabin and ensuite head. The starboard aft VIP cabin has a double berth. The port aft cabin has been converted into an extremely well-equipped workshop with direct cockpit access.  The workbench converts into a single berth with additional fold down bunk inboard. The cabin below the raised saloon has been converted for maximum storage space with a fold down pipe berth. The saloon table is convertible to a double berth bringing the total number to 9 sleeping berths. The extra thick insulated sole is (Resopal synthetic) teak and holly and the bulkheads are in a warm Afromorsia (Alpi) paneling. There is radiator heating throughout with heat exchanger forced air ventilators in the heads. The aft head heater also feeds the wet locker outboard of the stall shower and one of the cockpit storage cubbies. Air conditioning in the owner’s and port aft cabins has proved more than adequate for comfort on board. Sole traps are positive locking and there is good access to all systems below the sole. LED spots and indirect lighting throughout the boat are dimmable with courtesy lights below steps.  220v, 12v and USB outlets are scattered throughout the interior.

Through the watertight double companionway door with key lock and 4 hatch dogs is the panoramic deck saloon. This features a forward-facing navigation station that is often referred to as “Jimmy’s desk”. When conditions are sub-optimal and everything is in good trim on deck, this is the most comfortable location to stand watches. A u-shaped settee to starboard faces the convertible table (with leaves for easy movement fore and aft) and a centerline bench settee with galley storage drawers.
