BROKER’S COMMENTS
BLÅ SKVALL, a Hallberg-Rassy 57, is a moderna bluewater cruiser designed by Germán Frers, combining the yard’s renowned safety and seaworthiness with modern performance and comfort. She offers fast, effortless sailing and is easily handled by a small crew. Her powerful and versatile sail plan includes mainsail, genoa, Code 0, and gennaker. Equipped with a modern aluminium furling mast with hydraulic in-mast furling and outhaul, electric genoa furling, and electrically operated winches, all sail handling is managed smoothly at the touch of a button.
On deck, BLÅ SKVALL offers a clean and uncluttered layout with flush deck hatches and generous sun deck, including a bimini. Teak decking extends across the deck, cockpit, and the push-button-operated fold-down bathing platform. Storage capacity is exceptional, with approximately 10,000 litres distributed among a large forward sail locker, anchor locker, cockpit lockers, and a huge storage garage aft. Twin helm stations and twin rudders provide precise control, while bow and stern thrusters make manoeuvring in confined harbours effortless. The yacht is equipped with a Dockmate remote docking system, allowing you to move freely on board while handling harbour manoeuvres with precision, whether from the bow, stern, or alongside. Aft, electrically operated davits provide safe and effortless launching and retrieval of the dinghy.
Below deck, the interior is finished in light European oak. The saloon features an L-shaped sofa, two comfortable armchairs, and an additional sofa. A retractable 50-inch television is discreetly integrated into the saloon. Accommodation comprises of three cabins, all with double berths. For warmer days, the air conditioning on board will be greatly appreciated. The galley is designed for long-distance cruising and is comprehensively equipped, featuring a Miele induction stove with microwave, three top-loading refrigerator/freezer units, and an additional front-opening refrigerator. A washer-dryer is located in the aft head, and both heads are fitted with electric toilets. A watermaker adds further independence for long voyages.
Her technical specification matches her cruising ambitions. Propulsion is provided by a Volvo Penta D4 engine delivering 175hp, coupled to an AquaDrive shaft system for smooth and quiet operation. With the Volvo Penta interface integrated into the system, all engine data can be monitored directly on the plotter, providing a clear overview. Electrical power is supplied by a substantial Lithium battery bank supported by an Onan generator, ensuring reliable onboard systems and efficient charging. Navigation and communication are handled through a comprehensive Raymarine system.
BLÅ SKVALL was delivered in 2022 to her current, second owner after a start as a demo boat for Hallberg-Rassy and a quick stop with her first owner. The owner of BLÅ SKVALL is an experienced seaman and dedicated regatta sailor, clearly demonstrating that a yacht of this size is equally capable in competitive sailing. She is likely the only Hallberg-Rassy 57 measured for racing and has successfully competed in both Tjörn Runt and Gotland Runt, achieving impressive results. This proves that she is not only an outstanding world cruiser, but also a yacht with genuine performance credentials.
If a yacht is to perform well in regattas, she must be in excellent condition, something that truly applies to this vessel. The sail inventory has been updated with a new gennaker and Code 0, and all maintenance has been professionally carried out by Bröderna Martinsson in Svineviken, where she has also been stored indoors during the winter months. Meticulously maintained, comprehensively equipped, and impressively fast, could this be your next yacht?

A Proven Voyager
Since taking ownership in 2022, we have had the pleasure of exploring some of the finest waters in the Baltic and Kattegat. Our voyages have taken us from the Hallberg-Rassy yard on Orust to the outer reaches of the Scandinavian archipelagos and beyond.
We have made three memorable passages along Sweden’s east coast to the Stockholm Archipelago, calling at Öland, Gotland, the northern Åland islands, and Turku in Finland. To the west and south, we have enjoyed wonderful cruises to destinations such as Läsö, Anholt, Skagen, Marstrand, Copenhagen, and Bornholm. Closer to home, countless weekends have been spent discovering the beauty of Sweden’s west coast.
Racing Pedigree
BLÅ SKVALL has proven herself to be arguably a fast cruising yacht in offshore racing today. We have proudly competed in the Gotland Runt twice, delivering results that command respect in any fleet:
- 2023: 5th Place in Class (SRS A) and 22nd Place Overall.
- 2025: 17th Place in Class (SRS A) and 58th Place Overall.
- Special Recognition (2025): We were especially proud to receive the "Best Foredeck Crew" award, highlighting that even a 57-footer can be handled with precision and athletic efficiency.
The Ultimate Family Platform
Beyond the racing and the long passages, BLÅ SKVALL has been the heart of our family life. She has comfortably hosted three generations, including four children and three grandchildren, offering safety, immense space, and a sense of home on the water.
Throughout our ownership, she has been reliable, comfortable, and a pleasure to sail. She offers the best of both worlds: unwavering confidence for the offshore racer and pure enjoyment for relaxed coastal cruising with the family.
