OYSTER 475 AQUENE - NEW LISTING

Broker Comments Launched in 2019 and still in her first ownership, AQUENE has only ever been sailed in the fresh water of the Great Lakes.

AQUENE presents almost as new with only 120 hours on the Generator and 435 on the main engine, she is barely broken-in.

Sloop rigged with easy-to handle electric in-mast furling and furling headsail she boasts brand new updated Raymarine electronics.

On deck, the ergonomically designed cockpit and large aft deck with access to the bathing platform allow you to have guests onboard with ample space, while the huge lazarette provides plenty of storage to keep the decks clear.

Below decks, her luxurious three-cabin accommodation sleeps six comfortably. There is generous headroom and an exceptionally spacious master stateroom aft.

The American white oak joinery and large opening deck saloon windows only enhance the light, airy atmosphere.

AQUENE is well thought out, well maintained, and very gently used by her caring owners.

Early viewing recommended.

BROKER’ S COMMENTS
Launched in 2019 and still in her first ownership, AQUENE has only ever been sailed in the fresh water of the Great Lakes

MANUFACTURERS ’ S COMMENTS

Boasting a lengthened hull, updated styling, and advanced engineering, the Oyster 475 is the successor to the very successful Oyster 46. She is unusually spacious for her compact size, which allows for comfortable cruising and easy docking. The 475 is ‘best in-class’ out on the water.

Using modern design engineering techniques, Oyster has made the hull and deck light, strong, and stiff. The Oyster 475 is a powerful performer providing a smooth balanced ride for any conditions.

OWNERS ’ COMMENTS

“We built Aquene to sail the 5 Great Lakes. We selected her name from Native languages of tribes from around the Great Lakes, the name means “peace”. We have enjoyed our time cruising and now are ready for other adventures. The yacht has been a second home to us, and we have always treated her like a member of our family. Our hope is that a new owner will enjoy her as much as we have.”
Owners of Aquene since 2020

1 . CONSTRUCTION

HULL NUMBER Oyster 475.07.

HULL CONSTRUCTION A composite construction of Fibre Reinforced Plastics (FRP) and sandwich materials, moulded in female tooling developed by Oyster, built under the close supervision of the Oyster Design Team.
The hull is moulded using a combination of vinylester and high quality orthotropic polyester resin with the outer topside finish in a white NPG gelcoat. This combination gives excellent UV resistance and waterproofing qualities suitable for use in tropical environments.
The hull features a monolithic (single-skin) composite laminate which is reinforced with a web of stringers and floors. Combined with BS1088 standard marine-ply structural bulkheads, this produces a robust structure with excellent strength to weight qualities and proven longevity.
Local reinforcement is applied at the keel recess, the keel longitudinals, mast bulkhead, forestay and hull stringers.
Limber holes and/or tubes are installed at appropriate points. Stringers, bulkhead landings and floors are formed over non-structural, inert, polyurethane foam.
