The result is a performance cruising catamaran that covers miles effortlessly, remains reassuring in a seaway, and provides a comfortable platform for life on board.

Launched in 2021, hull 55N02 has already proven her capabilities. AKAROA III participated in the very first GLYWO rally, sailing among the Grand Large Yachting fleet and sharing the kind of passages and anchorages these boats are designed for. She has since benefited from careful ownership and a recent refit, and is now presented fully prepared for her next program, whether that means ocean crossings, extended sabbatical cruising or a new round-the-world project.

The carbon rotating mast — a rare and highly desirable option — works together with the carbon crossbeam to reduce weight and optimise performance and balance under sail. Air conditioning in the saloon and the owner cabin enhances comfort in the tropics, and the overall systems package has been selected to support real life on board rather than occasional use.
