The award-winning Oyster 495 boast a range of features distilled from our larger yachts. The iconic Oyster styling is obvious, she is effortless to sail, delivers consistently fast passage speeds and features contemporary new generation luxury interiors. With clean hull lines and carrying her beam well aft, the 495 offers excellent stability and sailing performance. Her twin rudder configuration makes her light and easy on the steering in even the most boisterous of conditions. 1. CONSTRUCTION
HULL NUMBER
Oyster 495/11.
STRUCTURE
Hull and deck moulded from female tooling generated by a computer driven five axis cutter to ensure fairness and accuracy, in carefully controlled and monitored conditions.
Hull skin laminated in layers of quadriaxial glass fibre cloth, with reinforcement of the hull shell achieved using L-beam frames and stringers which incorporate carbon unidirectional fibres.
HULL AND DECK CONSTRUCTION
Below the waterline the hull incorporates a Vinylester outer skin for its optimum waterproofing qualities. Topsides incorporate a core of closed cell structural foam for strength and insulation. The area below the waterline, in the keel and forward areas of the hull, is heavily reinforced solid laminate.
Hull structure comprises a combination of composite stringers and frames for strength and rigidity, with bulkheads in BS1088 plywood. The deck has a closed cell foam core, replaced in high load areas with plywood reinforcement.
Both the lazarette and sail locker are watertight compartments, with drainage valves and glands for penetrations. The anchor locker has a partial chain separation bulkhead and drains overboard.
HULL AND DECK FINISH
White hull with cove line and double boot top lines in ‘anthracite grey.’
Wrap to hull, bulwark and transom in Satin Pearl.
The hull is coated with epoxy primer and finished with Seajet Platinum 039 ‘black’ antifoul.

SALOON
Accessed from the cockpit via a set of timber companionway steps with stainless steel hand rails.
The deck saloon is extremely bright and airy with seven windows, of which two of the forward ones open to provide unbeatable fresh air ventilation.
Featuring a large L-shaped settee to starboard, and a shorter L-shaped settee to port, with stowage below settee bases. Outboard of the port settee there is a flat screen TV.
Central to the larger starboard settee is an extending saloon table, with adjustable pedestal that can be raised or lowered, to then accommodate upholstered cushions turning this into a day bed.
When the table is opened fully it provides a dining area that can accommodate up to eight people. Alternatively, the table can easily be made smaller and lowered to become a casual table.
Two Chic ‘White’ folding teak director’s chairs provide additional below deck/in-harbour seating.
GALLEY
U-shaped galley with a light and airy feel due to the deck saloon windows that extend aft to the galley, and opening portlight to the cockpit.
