A revolutionary new ship from the trusted ATLANTIC yard. The Atlantic 40 is a new sailing yacht optimized for sailing and handling characteristics, but also for increasing living comfort below deck. The 40-footer is an evolution of the Atlantic philosophy, with a focus on the following design accents: 'light design' where comfort aspects are concerned around the handling of the boat. Where safety aspects are central, the design focus has been on reinforcing (oversizing) existing functionalities. Furthermore, it is about a qualitative sharpening of the 'long time' and 'long distance' qualities of the Atlantic sailing yachts. The new 40-footer will be available in three versions, namely “Singlehanded,” “Coastal,” and a “North” (Atlantic) version. These are differentiations of the 40-footer concept based on requests from (international) customers / target groups, but also in response to the various sailing areas in which the Atlantic yachts operate. The fixed or movable keel concepts have also been adapted accordingly, whether with a single or double rudder, steering wheel, or tiller. The “Singlehanded” and the “North” will be built with a fixed keel and balance rudder, while the “Coastal” will be equipped with a hydraulically movable keel in combination with double balance rudders. On one hand, there is a functional simplification in the execution to achieve cost optimization from the customer perspective, while on the other hand, the Atlantic core values regarding comfort aspects have been enhanced, such as the now more spacious doghouse (width + 10 cm / height + 3 cm) and reinforcement of the foredeck segment with anchor function while increasing compactness. The wider entrance and new deck layout with more freeboard also contribute to increased comfort, with shrouds now attached in line with the hull of the boat. With the compactness achieved in the functional design in terms of length, the maneuverability of this 40-foot boat has improved during docking maneuvers in harbors.
